As the leading prescription drug benefit administrator for approximately 60 million Americans, Medco understands and appreciates the value of diversity. We benefit from diversity in our workforce, customer base, and our suppliers.
The fact that Medco operates in many American cities affords us myriad opportunities to work with small and minority-owned local businesses. Not only does working with a diverse group of qualified suppliers support our business objectives, it also strengthens the communities in which we operate. Medco advocates the development and use of these enterprises as contractors and subcontractors, as well as for the purchase of goods and services. This allows Medco to gain exposure to new and varied ideas, which enhance our ability to creatively respond to our customers' needs.
Medco has long supported quality, small and minority-owned business entities. But for as many of these businesses that currently support Medco, we know there are many more that would perform equally as well. Unfortunately, these other enterprises may not know how to establish a working relationship with us. It is our hope that our effort will attest to Medco's eagerness to support quality, small and minority-owned business entities. Click here to read a letter from Chairman and CEO, David B. Snow, regarding Medco's commitment to supplier diversity.

list. If Medco requires your company's product or
